My name is Ciara.
I was born on the 12th May 1982 so at the time of writing this, I am 25 years old.
I am Irish but live in Barcelona, Spain, right now with my beautiful Italian boyfriend (SO smug).
Umm…I work as a website content writer, my website is at www.website-copy-writer.com and a translator from Spanish to English.
I take singing lessons so that I can soon sing professionally, as this is my dream, so fingers crossed and good vibes and all that.
So, this is a raw food site so y’all will be wanting to know about THAT side of me. Well, let me tell you.
I found out about the raw food diet in a library in Manchester, U.K. and it attracted me terribly so I strove to find out more about it. That was a few years ago and since then I’ve been on and off trying to follow the raw food diet, never 100% though and never for a very long time. I’ve been conscious about eating lots of raw food but then, I’ve pretty much always been a healthy eater.
Over the last few years, although I’ve been trying to go raw, I’ve also eaten quite a lot of shit (oops!); lots of chocolate (LOVE dark chocolate), lots of coffee, cheese, you know, stuff, and lots of it. Also, (could it be a correlation?) over the last few years I’ve really started feeling not oh-so-good at all. Really tired, sleeping a lot, bouts of depression and random unexplained illnesses and discomforts, such as a charming skin fungus. I’ll go more into detail about that and other symptoms further on down the page. These will be things that I’ll be watching out for and hopefully waving goodbye to with this raw food diet.
And so, my aims with this blog are to, umm, blog about my raw food journey. I plan to take multiple photos of myself, my food, and my future self, i.e. how I will look after a week of raw, a month of raw, and so forth. I aim to be 100% raw, that’s my future goal, but quite a flexible 100%, I mean, I don’t want to be obsessed with not eating cooked food because frankly, I will eat cooked food in the future and I don’t want it to be a huge deal. But I want my eating pattern on a daily basis to be 100%, more or less. Or do I? Well, I do now but maybe I will find that I prefer being at 90%, who knows?
So, the things I will be tracking, that is, the things that I hope will change with this diet are:
- Less sleep needed (I now need about 9-10 hours sleep to feel normal)
- Blackheads on my nose gone (I’ve had them since puberty and they never leave no matter what I do!)
- Have more energy (self explanatory)
- Cellulite gone (not that I have any….ahem!)
- A clear mind (most of the time I feel that I live in a very fuzzy state that is my mind and hence, I find it very hard to concentrate and focus)
Well, that’s me…
